Dirt, pollution and daily wear can dull the sparkle of a gemstone and the surface of precious metals. By following a few simple steps below, you can protect your jewellery for you and future generations to enjoy – After all, jewellery should be passed along for the next generation to cherish and treasure!
C A R E T I P S
Where possible, store your jewellery in a fabric lined or soft jewellery box or the original purchase box (which is also eco-friendly!), taking care not to drop, bash or scratch.
Always remove your jewellery when applying scent, body lotions and or creams, or even better, always put your jewellery on last when getting dressed.
Chlorine and cleaning products such as bleach are especially damaging to jewellery. If you are unable to remove jewellery, please wear rubber gloves or ensure it is well covered!
Ensure that you rinse off any chemicals that come into contact with your jewellery straight away.
Store jewellery separately so that pieces do not tangle, rub or scratch against each other.
Lastly, please avoid using harsh chemical cleaners on your jewellery such as silver dips. These are strong and can damage gemstones and the surface of precious metals over time. A soft cloth and a gentle tarnish remover such as ‘Silvo’ should to the trick.
